In 2001, the Laguna II, a saloon that was designed to reflect a lifestyle driving, came into production. It was an era of a lot of innovation with an array of new features capabilities that let customers enjoy their vehicle to the maximum.
The occupants still had to use keys to open and shut their doors. This was a huge issue for a lot of people and Renault engineers were determined to address the issue.
They decided to incorporate a contactless card in their vehicles, and develop an system that allows drivers to enter and unlock their cars simply by using their hands. The card key is now present in two of three Renault vehicles. If it's located in the ignition barrel or on the centre console the car will unlock when the card is near and lock automatically when it is removed. renault key card is a genuine Renault remote control keycard (without blade). It comes individually clam-packed and is ready to be programmed using Abrites Diagnostics for Renault/ Dacia Software with the ProTAG Programmer.

The chips are susceptible to cracking due the use of common sense and it can be very expensive to get them repaired or replaced at a dealership. We can repair or replace your Renault key card for less than the dealer cost.
The hands-free card first launched in 2001 on the Laguna II saloon, which was designed to be a "lifestyle" car of the 21st century. Renault was unable to test all possible uses despite having a detailed design guideline which was based on more than 6,000 conversations with customers.
Bernard Dumondel was the product leader for Laguna II at the time. He used his hotel room keys to unlock his car. He believed that a car key could be made with the same magnetic strip that was used to make the key.
In the years that followed the card was hailed as a revolutionary technology and is now offered on two of three Renault vehicles. Although smartphones are on the verge of replacing it, Renault has chosen to make use of these new features without letting the hands-free card slip off the radar.
The keyless entry system
Renault's hands free card was a revolutionary piece of technology when it was first introduced 20 years ago. The exterior design is the same, but the technology has been upgraded to make it easier to use and more difficult to hack.
It's not able to be used from outside to unlock doors or start the car until the driver has activated it. That's because radio signal antennae "around" the car are set up to determine the presence of the key outside or inside. The key will work at a distance to begin the ignition of your car, but it won't be able to unlock the doors, which is for your safety.
The wireless remote control transmissions of the system employ the rolling-code. This reduces the risk of someone stealing an informational message and transmitting it to gain access, but doesn't completely eliminate it. [1]
